Gardening has been a passion of mine since I was a boy. I used to play for hours in the garden of my childhood home in Idaho. It never occurred to me I could make a living with landscaping, so I worked in sales in Seattle and South Korea.
With the pandemic, my job moved to Houston, and I didn’t follow. During my job hunt, a friend from university asked if I would be interested in helping maintain the landscaping at a few properties he manages. I found myself enjoying the work, and I thought starting a business could be a good move.
Since 2021, I have been servicing residential and commercial clients in the greater Shoreline area. I’m proud to call Shoreline my home and help keep it beautiful.
Why landscaping as a business?
Changing my work from sales at international corporations to landscaping locally may seem like a stretch to some.
Without a pension and not wanting to rely on social security’s availability, building a company seems like my best option for a retirement plan.
To me, there’s nothing better than being outside in nature, with the wind in my hair and industrial equipment in hand. The business skills I’ve gained over the years have helped me transition into my new role. As the business grows, I become more confident it’s a path with a solid future.
And what better place than the Shoreline area to settle down?
Landscaping is my thing because it allows me to unleash my creativity and connect with nature. Transforming outdoor spaces into beautiful, functional landscapes brings me immense joy and satisfaction. Through landscaping, I can create environments that enhance aesthetics and the well-being of those inhabiting them.
That’s great Greg. I feel the same way. Best of luck on your business!
